Founded in the late 1970s, the worldwide "spiritual headquarters" of the Church of Scientology is located in the City. The Historic Fort Harrison Hotel offers visitors an opportunity to view “The Tour the Images of a Lifetime Photo Exhibit”, depicting the life and works of L. Ron Hubbard.
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a non-profit working aquarium, which provides many rescued and rehabilitated marine animals. Although the main focus is the successful release of the animals, some have become permanent residents due to the extent of their injuries. A guided tour of the aquarium typically lasts one to two hours, depending on the number of questions asked.
Pier 60, the City’s famous 1050 ft. sightseeing and fishing pier, is the focal point of the beach. With the only covered children's playground located directly on the sand, Pier 60 offers two play areas with age appropriate equipment-one for preschoolers and the other for 8 to 12 years olds. Pier 60 Park is also home to Sunsets at Pier 60, Clearwater’s nightly "street" festival celebrating the setting of the sun.

Jazz lovers will enjoy the Clearwater Jazz Holiday. Now in its 27th year, the festival is a world-class gathering of the some of the greatest talents and greatest fans of jazz. The free-to-the public, jazz festival is held every third week in October.
